This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar browser-storage technologies are used on cleverpocketscoutshelvs.lol, why they are used, how long they persist, and exactly how to refuse or remove them. It supplements our Privacy Policy and is issued by Pocket Scout Media Ltd, company number 14872051, of 27 Marylebone Lane, Suite 4, London W1U 2NL.
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. On each subsequent request, the browser sends the file back, allowing the site to recognise the browser. Related technologies include local storage and session storage — key-value stores inside the browser that are not transmitted with every request but serve a similar purpose. We use both, and this policy covers both.
Cookies are described as first-party when set by the domain you are visiting and third-party when set by another domain whose content is embedded in the page. They are session cookies when deleted on browser close, and persistent when they survive until an expiry date.
Strictly necessary items are set immediately because the Site cannot operate without them; UK PECR and the EU ePrivacy Directive do not require consent for these. Every other item is set only after you have made an affirmative choice in our banner. Choosing "Reject Non-Essential" results in no analytics or functional storage of any kind. Nothing is pre-ticked, and rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting.
| Name | Provider | Purpose & duration |
|---|---|---|
| cookieConsent | First party (local storage) | Records that a consent decision has been made so the banner does not reappear. 12 months. |
| cookieConsentMode | First party (local storage) | Stores which decision was made: all, essential or custom. 12 months. |
| cookieConsentDetail | First party (local storage) | Stores per-category choices where "Preferences" was used. 12 months. |
| cookieConsentDate | First party (local storage) | Timestamp of the decision, used to re-prompt after expiry. 12 months. |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare (third party) | Bot-management token protecting the Site from automated abuse. 30 minutes. |
| psm_session | First party | Anonymous session identifier used for form CSRF protection. Session only. |
These are set only if you consent. They tell us which hotel dossiers are read, how far down a page readers scroll, and which outbound hotel links are clicked. They do not build a cross-site profile and are never used for advertising.
| Name | Provider | Purpose & duration |
|---|---|---|
| psm_analytics_id | First party | Randomly generated, non-identifying visitor token used to distinguish new from returning readers. 13 months. |
| psm_pageview | First party | Deduplicates page views within a single reading session. 30 minutes. |
| psm_referrer | First party | Stores the first referring source of a session so we can understand how readers find us. Session only. |
| psm_scroll_depth | First party (session storage) | Records maximum scroll depth on long-form articles. Session only. |
Also optional. These remember choices you have made so the Site behaves consistently between visits.
| Name | Provider | Purpose & duration |
|---|---|---|
| psm_text_size | First party (local storage) | Remembers an increased reading text size if you set one. 12 months. |
| psm_last_hotel | First party (local storage) | Remembers the last hotel dossier viewed to power the "continue reading" link. 90 days. |
| psm_currency | First party (local storage) | Stores whether you prefer to see indicative rates in GBP, EUR or USD. 12 months. |
Two embedded services may set their own cookies when their content loads:
We do not use advertising networks, retargeting pixels, social media tracking widgets, session replay tools or fingerprinting scripts of any kind.
Clear the local storage for this domain in your browser's developer tools or site settings, then reload the page. The consent banner will reappear and you may choose again. Alternatively, use the "Preferences" control in the banner while it is still visible to adjust individual categories before saving.

We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension transmits GPC, we treat that as a valid rejection of all non-essential storage, and the banner records your choice automatically without further action. Legacy Do Not Track headers are also respected in the same way.
Nothing on this Site is gated behind cookie consent. Refusing all non-essential storage means the Site will not remember your text size or preferred currency display, and our aggregate readership statistics will not include your visit. Every article, dossier and image remains fully available.
We audit the Site's storage behaviour every six months and update this table when anything changes. If you find a cookie on this domain that is not listed here, we would genuinely like to know: write to [email protected] and we will investigate and correct the record within ten working days.
